Making his fifth start of the year at shortstop, Nick Franklin struck out all three times he was up Saturday against the Tigers. Franklin is 0-for-14 with nine strikeouts in his last four games and 2-for-28 in his last eight games. For the season, he's 6-for-47 with one extra-base hit and a 21/3 K/BB ratio. The shortstop job is there for the taking with Brad Miller still struggling, but Franklin has done absolutely nothing to capitalize.
