Colby Lewis was hit hard in a losing effort against the Nationals on Friday, allowing five runs on nine hits over his 5 2/3 innings of work. The veteran right-hander walked a pair and punched out five. The big blow against him came in the fourth inning when Ian Desmond belted a three-run homer to put the Nationals on top for good. He has struggled since returning from the disabled list, posting a 5.44 ERA and 1.77 WHIP through his first 48 innings on the season. He'll look to turn things around on Thursday when he takes on the Orioles.
