Mets placed OF Eric Young Jr. on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain. The hope is that Young will be ready for activation as soon as he's eligible. The 29-year-old outfielder is batting just .220/.315/.305 in 42 games this season for New York but he's managed 17 stolen bases in 18 attempts.
