Reds manager Bryan Price said Wednesday that Jay Bruce (knee) will be activated from the disabled list "very, very soon." Price added that the outfielder will not need to go out on a rehab assignment. Bruce is just two weeks removed from surgery to repair a partially-torn meniscus in his left knee, but he's obviously made rapid progress. While Price didn't list a likely return date for Bruce, it wouldn't be a surprise if they try to push him to be ready for this weekend's series versus the Cardinals.
