Bronson Arroyo allowed five runs on nine hits over seven innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday. Arroyo never stood a chance at earning the victory with Adam Wainwright dealing a one-hit shutout on the other side, but the 37-year-old wasn't at his best Tuesday. He gave up seven extra-base hits, including two home runs, of his nine hits allowed. He didn't walk a batter while striking out six. It snapped a string of three straight wins allowing one run or fewer for the veteran right-hander. He'll try to get back on the horse Sunday at the Mets.
