Alex Cobb (oblique) is expected to be activated to start Thursday against the Athletics. Cobb, out since mid-April with a left oblique strain, tossed five scoreless innings Saturday in a rehab start with High-A Charlotte. The final hurdle was a bullpen session Monday. He'll return to a 1.89 ERA over three starts.
