Jhonny Peralta went 3-for-5 and scored the game-winning run as the Cardinals pulled out a 4-3 win in 12 innings over the Cubs on Tuesday. Peralta led off the bottom of the 12th inning with his third single of the game, eventually ending up at third base with the bases loaded and one out. Cubs reliever Justin Grimm proceeded to hit pinch-hitter Greg Garcia with a pitch, bringing Peralta home and giving the Cardinals a walk-off victory. Earlier in the game, Peralta delivered his 17th RBI, and his three-hit night raised his season line to .250/.340/.479.
