Brandon McCarthy allowed five runs -- one earned -- on seven hits over five innings in Tuesday's loss to the Cubs. McCarthy looked as though he was going to get out of the fifth inning unharmed, but a fielding error by Martin Prado gave the Cubs an extra out. They used to put up four runs, with the big damage coming on a Mike Olt three-run homer. It's hard to give McCarthy too much of the benefit of the doubt, though, as the loss dropped him to 0-4 with a 6.23 ERA. The Phillies get to face the struggling right-hander on Sunday.
