Trevor Plouffe hit his first home run of the year in the ninth inning of Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays. Plouffe is known mostly for his power, but he's managed to stay fantasy relevant through the early weeks of the season by posting a high batting average and exercising surprising plate discipline. Despite the homer being his first, Plouffe has slashed .314/.426/.451 with nine RBI thus far. The average will go down -- he's just a .243 career hitter -- but the homers should increase, keeping him on fantasy radars in deep mixed and AL-only leagues for another year.
