Anthony Recker homered off Matt Shoemaker in the top of the 13th to power the Mets past the Angels on Saturday. Recker also had a big two-run single in the seventh that gave the Mets a 4-3 lead. It was 6-3 in the top of the ninth, when Jose Valverde gave up a game-tying three-run homer. The Mets, though, persevered and came through in the end, thanks mostly to the bottom of their lineup; Lucas Duda, Juan Lagares, Recker and Omar Quintanilla had nine of their 11 hits and all seven of their RBI from the 6th-through-9th slots.
