Jordan Lyles was the star of Monday night's victory over the White Sox, hurling 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball in a 7-1 victory. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out four, mixing speeds effectively and keeping White Sox hitters off balance all evening. Lyles didn't just impress on the mound, going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI at the dish. Including a walk he drew in his Rockies' debut, Lyles is now batting .600/.667/.800 over six trips to the plate. Obviously his work on the rubber is far more pressing, and Lyles has acquitted himself well in that department over his first two starts, going 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA. So far, so good for Colorado's biggest return from the Dexter Fowler trade. He's got a good matchup on deck next week in San Diego.
