Cubs manager Rick Renteria said Thursday that Darwin Barney remains the team's starter at second base. Emilio Bonifacio will see plenty of playing time at second but will function as a super utility player. Barney is getting the nod because of his slick glove, but he's going to have to improve upon last year's ugly .208/.266/.303 batting line if he wants to keep his job.
