Nelson Cruz is starting in left field Thursday in an instrasquad game. Cruz wasn't scheduled to make his spring debut until Saturday but must have talked his way into Thursday's exhibition tilt. He signed a one-year, $8 million free agent contract with the Orioles earlier this week.
