Andrew Cashner requested $2.4 million and was offered $2.275 million from the Padres when arbitration figures were exchanged on Friday. With the sides already so close, a deal seems likely to get done relatively quickly. The 27-year-old hurler has been incredibly effective when healthy, and looks poised to build upon an excellent 2013 campaign in which he compiled a stellar 3.09 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 128/47 K/BB ratio over 175 innings.
