Troy Renck of the Denver Post believes that D.J. LeMahieu, not Josh Rutledge, will open the 2014 season as the Rockies starting second baseman. Renck also believes that LeMahieu could hit second in the Rockies lineup, which would certainly boost his counting stats. The 25-year-old had a solid season at the dish in 2013, slashing .280/.311/.361 with a pair of homers, 28 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 109 games. He's certainly worthy of consideration as a middle infielder in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.
