According to La Velle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Twins are making progress on a two-year contract with right-hander Mike Pelfrey. The Twins initially offered Pelfrey a two-year, $10 million deal, but the two sides have continued to negotiate. Neal writes that something could get done as soon as Thursday, but a deal might not be finalized until next week. The 29-year-old right-hander had a 5.19 ERA and 101/53 K/BB ratio over 152 2/3 innings this past season with Minnesota.
