CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Twins have offered a multi-year contract to Mike Pelfrey. The two sides still differ on the dollars involved, so nothing appears to be imminent. Pelfrey returned from Tommy John surgery this year and posted a 5.19 ERA and 101/53 K/BB ratio over 152 2/3 innings with Minnesota. The Twins are determined to upgrade their rotation this winter and have been connected to nearly every pitcher on the market, including Ricky Nolasco, Bronson Arroyo, Matt Garza, Phil Hughes, and Scott Feldman. They have also checked in on Ervin Santana and Ubaldo Jimenez, though the bidding on each pitcher figures to go rise above where they are willing to go.
