Marc Carig of Newsday reports that if the Mets signed Alfredo Aceves, it would "probably" be on a minor league deal. ESPN's Buster Olney reported Thursday that a pact between the two clubs was a "good possibility." With Matt Harvey out for the 2014 season following Tommy John surgery, the Mets could have room in their rotation for Aceves, who has always preferred to start. He's coming off back-to-back disappointing years, though, having posted a 5.21 ERA over 80 appearances for the Red Sox.
