Andy McCullough of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that the Yankees have "had contact" with Joe Nathan. The club has refused to anoint David Robertson as their new ninth inning man following the retirement of Mariano Rivera, as they want to see what's available via free agency first. They've also been in contact with Grant Balfour's reps. Nathan is also drawing heavy interest from the Tigers.
