Lance Lynn struggled in a losing effort against the Red Sox in Game 4 of the World Series on Sunday, allowing three runs on three hits in his 5 2/3 innings of work. Lynn also issued three free passes while punching out five. He was locked into a pitcher's duel, with the score knotted at 1-1 heading into the sixth inning. It was there that Lynn allowed a two out single to Dustin Pedroia and walked David Ortiz before giving way to Seth Maness. Jonny Gomes then greeted Maness with a dramatic three-run blast, giving the Red Sox the lead and hanging a pair of runs on Lynn's line. He now sports a disappointing 5.19 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 17/10 K/BB ratio through 17 1/3 postseason innings. Should the series head to a seventh game, Lynn could be available to work in relief.
