Brandon McCarthy coughed up four runs on eight hits over six innings in a loss to the Padres on Monday. The right-hander struck out two and didn't walk anyone. McCarthy has only walked one batter over his last six starts, and he has gone at least six frames in each of those outings. McCarthy will take a 5-10 record and 4.64 ERA into his last start of the season on Saturday against the Nationals.
