Brandon Snyder homered off David Price for the Red Sox's only run in Monday's loss to the Rays. Unfortunately, that homer probably bought him the at-bat against Joel Peralta in the eighth in which he hit a routine fly to left with the tying run on third. If not for the homer, there's a good chance Mike Carp, a better bat against righties, would have been up in his place. The medium-depth fly ended up resulting in an out at home plate because Jerry Meals was in terrible position and blew the call, denying Snyder a sac fly and the Red Sox the tying run in a game they lost 2-1.
