Nationals released LHP J.C. Romero. Romero posted a 2.84 ERA and 16/4 K/BB ratio in 12 2/3 innings with Triple-A Syracuse prior to using the opt-out clause in his minor league contract. The veteran southpaw is working on finalizing a deal with the Indians and could report to the club's Triple-A affiliate on Thursday.
