Blue Jays designated RHP Ramon Ortiz for assignment. Ortiz posted a 5.01 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 23 1/3 innings with Toronto. The veteran right-hander is likely to pass through waivers and will then have the opportunity to accept an assignment to the Triple-A level.
