Alexi Amarista singled three times and drove in four runs versus the Dodgers on Tuesday. Amarista is supposed to head back to the bench Wednesday with Chase Headley coming off the DL, but he made his case for additional playing time tonight. The plan is for him to back up Jedd Gyorko at second base, but he is the better defender of the two and it's not like Gyorko is tearing it up at the plate (.240, 0 HR, 6 RBI in 49 AB). Gyorko will have to turn it on soon to give himself some job security.
