Yankees claimed LHP Josh Spence off waivers from the Padres. The Yanks claimed a couple relievers off waivers Tuesday, as they also scooped up David Herndon. Spence struggled in his brief time with the Pads this season, but he pitched well for them in 2011 and has struck out over a batter per inning during his career.
