RHP Rick VandenHurk has declined his outright assignment and elected free agency. The Indians claimed VandenHurk off waivers from the Blue Jays last month, but he failed to make the team and will now be looking to catch on elsewhere. The 26-year-old right-hander was a decent prospect at one time, and he wasn't bad at Triple-A last year, so he shouldn't have trouble netting a minor league deal.
