Avila sustained a concussion during Sunday's Game 3 loss to the Orioles, MLive.com reports. Avila, who has a lengthy history of concussions, took a foul tip off the mask and was removed from the game in the sixth inning. He's suffered three concussions this season alone and has been removed from four contests due to concussion-like symptoms. Regardless, Avila said he has no plans to retire. "Unfortunately, I've had a few concussions over the last few years and it's something that I have to monitor and be aware of," Avila said. "It's nothing to take lightly, and something I've obviously thought about. It's always in the back of my mind. I love playing this game. And I'm going to keep playing as long as I can and as long as there's no risk to my health."
