Lackey (14-9) picked up the win on Friday against the Reds as he gave up one run on six hits over 7.2 innings pitched, while striking out five hitters in the process. The Cardinals veteran pitcher picked a great night to bounce back from his last two starts as he stayed ahead of hitters all night. Lackey didn't allow a walk and admitted to reporters that the added rest may have been beneficial after being pushed back in the rotation. Lackey will next take the mound on Wednesday against the Cubs in Chicago.
