Span went 2-for-4 Friday and stole his 30th base of the season. The steals are a career high, and with 90 runs scored Span stands a good chance of breaking his previous high of 97 in that category as well. Match those numbers with excellent defense and a .301/.353/.411 slash line, and Span has done all he can to make the $9 million option for 2015 in his contract seems downright cheap.
