Recker replaced an injured Travis d'Arnaud and went 2-for-3 with his seventh home run of the year in the Mets' 6-2 loss to the Nationals on Thursday. Recker had a chance to be the hero, but struck out against Tyler Clippard with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning and the Mets down four runs. If d'Arnaud's wrist keeps him sidelined. Recker will see most of the action behind the plate, backed up by Juan Centeno.
