Pedroia is dealing with increased inflammation in his hand/wrist and could be shut down for the rest of the season, WEEI Boston reports. Pedroia has dealt with a sore wrist since spring training, and it appears the pain worsened over the last few days. The Red Sox have not officially ruled Pedroia out for the season, but with them out of the playoff hunt, they do not have much incentive to get Pedroia in the lineup. With Pedroia out, the trio of Jemile Weeks, Brock Holt, and Mookie Betts figures to share the second-base duties for the Red Sox in some fashion.
