Jansen grabbed his 40th save of the season on Friday facing the Diamondbacks as he pitched a perfect ninth inning. It only took Jansen (3.14 ERA) seven pitches to end the game, which was a very nice follow-up to his disastrous outing on Wednesday where he gave up three earned runs on four hits in a blown save against the Nationals. Even with the hiccup on Wednesday, Jansen remains one of the better closers in the game.
