Avila (head) is out of the lineup again Friday. Avila's set to miss a third straight start after taking a foul ball off his facemask during Tuesday's game. Manager Brad Ausmus was vague when discussing the situation, but he did allude to some "lingering side effects," according to MLive.com. Ausmus went say Avila is just day-to-day and there has been no mention of a concussion, but the team will likely wait until Avila has completely shaken the cobwebs before returning him to action. James McCann will serve as the backup to Bryan Holaday in the interim.
