Hosmer (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Saturday, Jeffrey Flanagan of FOX Sports Kansas City reports. X-rays taken earlier in the week on Hosmer's injured hand came back negative, and he is set to resume playing in games. The Royals have not announced when he will return to the big club, but with the team in the playoff hunt, and Hosmer indicating he wants to see around 20 at-bats, he is on track to be back with the Royals sometime next week.
