Ramirez was tagged for 10 runs on nine hits over three innings in his start against the Rangers on Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday marked the first time this season that the Mariners have allowed 10 runs in a game. Ramirez's status in the rotation beyond Wednesday's start was uncertain even prior to the poor result, but he'll presumably serve in a long relief role upon roster expansion in September if he doesn't stick with Seattle through the beginning of next week.
