Upton is out of the lineup Friday against the Reds. Just when it seemed like Upton couldn't sink any lower, he has hit .132/.270/.283 in August (17 games), lowering his overall OPS down to .611. Manager Fredi Gonzalez finally caved and removed Upton from the leadoff spot earlier this month, and it seems he'll take it a step further and start sitting him more regularly over the final weeks of the season. Emilio Bonifacio will man center field and bat second in his absence Friday.
