Pierzynski is out of the lineup Friday against the Phillies. Tony Cruz will step in to catch starter Adam Wainwright, pushing Pierzynski to the bench for the third time in five games. It appears as though the playing time behind the plate for St. Louis will continue to be split fairly evenly.
