Verlander (shoulder) played catch for approximately 10 minutes from 60 feet Tuesday, George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press reports. Speaking of the session, Verlander said, "Definitely felt a whole lot better. There wasn't that can't-get-loose feeling. Arm felt loose and felt good." With the hope that he'll return Friday in Minnesota, the throwing session effectively doubled as a bullpen session. Expect him to fit in a bit more activity before week's end, but his first appearance since Aug. 11 will likely include a capped pitch count, which has yet to be released.
