Bruce (illness) is back in the lineup Thursday against the Rockies, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. A late scratch from Wednesday's lineup, Bruce was evidently just dealing with a short-term virus, as he's penciled in to return Thursday against lefty Jorge De La Rosa. Bruce is batting .189/.253/.422 against left-handed pitching this season and is 1-for-7 with three strikeouts in his career against De La Rosa, but he'll once again bat second for the Reds on Thursday.
