Davis will get the start at third base and bat second in the lineup Wednesday vs. the Yankees, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports. Both the position and spot in the lineup are rather unusual for Davis, who typically mans first base and bats in the heart of the order. However, with both Manny Machado and J.J. Hardy dealing with injuries, manager Buck Showalter has been forced to get creative with his lineup. Davis came up through the minor leagues as a third baseman, and while he's nowhere close to Machado's class a defender, the Orioles should be able to get by with him at the position for a few days while they wait for further clarity on the ongoing injury situations.
