Pennington went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's thrashing of the Rockies. Slotted second in Saturday's lineup, Pennington benefited from big days by No. 3 and 4 hitters David Peralta and Mark Trumbo, who combined for five hits and nine RBI. Given Didi Gregorius' meager numbers at shortstop this season as well as the Diamondbacks' current vacancy at third base, Pennington could find his way into regular playing time down the stretch.
