Quintana (6-8) picked up the loss on Friday facing the Mariners as he gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits in 5.2 innings pitched, while striking out four hitters. It wasn't a horrible outing by any means for Quintana, but he did miss a quality start by just one out. Since June 19, Quintana has put together an amazing run of starts in which nine of the 10 he allowed only two earned runs or less. Quintana needs to cut down on the walks to take the next step in his development.
