Andre Ethier tripled and scored to lead the Dodgers past the Indians 1-0 on Monday. Ethier led off the seventh inning with a towering fly to deep left off Corey Kluber that deflected off Michael Brantley's glove. Kluber coaxed a weak ground out to shortstop from Juan Uribe, froze A.J. Ellis on a curveball that was actually outside, intentionally walked Hanley Ramirez, and then gave up Clint Robinson's first career hit, an infield single that scored Ethier. The 32-year-old Ethier has been nothing more than NL-only fodder this year. After finishing 1-for-3 tonight, he's slashing a meager .249/.302/.373 with four homers and 31 RBI.
