Getting another start in the second spot in the order, Alcides Escobar went 0-for-5 in Friday's loss to the Angels. Escobar has started seven games in the two hole over the last couple of weeks, going 6-for-30 with no walks, one extra-base hit and no RBI. He's scored five runs in those games anyway, so perhaps it hasn't been a total loss. But he's a dreadful choice to hit second, as Ned Yost should have learned several times over by now.
