Steve Adams of MLBTradeRumors.com reports that David Aardsma has a May 15 opt-out date on his minor league contract with the Cardinals. Considering his 1.98 ERA with 12 strikeouts over 13 2/3 frames at Triple-A Memphis, Aardsma seems likely to exercise the opt-out if he's not called up. Eric Fornataro and Seth Maness would be vulnerable to lose their bullpen spot if the Cards decided to promote Aardsma.
