INF Ryan Roberts cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Pawtucket. Roberts was designated for assignment on Friday after hitting .109 in 22 plate appearances. The Red Sox signed him to a one-year deal in the first week of April to replace Will Middlebrooks. Brock Holt will get the playing time at third base until Middlebrooks returns.
