Nationals manager Matt Williams said Monday that Ross Detwiler will begin the season in the bullpen. Detwiler probably has more upside than Taylor Jordan and Tanner Roark, but the Nats have decided that he'd be better utilized as the second left-hander in their bullpen. Williams said Detwiler was "not happy" to hear the news, but the skipper thinks the southpaw can be "special" in relief.
