Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the Padres are closing in on a minor league deal with Tony Sipp. The deal will include an invitation to Major League spring training. The 29-year-old southpaw struggled during the 2013 campaign but would have a decent shot to earn a spot in the Padres bullpen to start the season.
