Angels acquired RHP Fernando Salas and 3B David Freese from the Cardinals in exchange for OFs Peter Bourjos and Randal Grichuk. Salas was terrific for the Cards in 2011, but he's been up-and-down the last two seasons, posting a 4.36 ERA. He's arbitration-eligible for the first time this offseason and could have been a non-tender candidate. The Angels will use him in middle relief.
